I read a lot of books to my kids. When we first started homeschooling we chose a literature-based curriculum and years later we still make reading aloud part of our daily routine. This year we’ve been reading through The Chronicles of Narnia, a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Aslan is one of my most-loved characters from literature–untamed, but at the same time a strong, steady presence that inspires loyalty and love. That’s who I had in mind as I was drawing this picture.
